You can use this search tool to find historical photos from across the Eastern Townships. The photos have been organized by subject and location, which are used to search our database below. Most of the photos include descriptions (including names and dates, when available) but if you recognize a place or subject that we have left out, please email our archivist.

Terms & Conditions of use for the Historic Pictures

All the historic pictures available on the ETRC website are free from copyright. The pictures can be reproduced free of charge, and without authorization of the ETRC for personnal, academic, or any other non-commercial use only. However, the user must indicate clearly that the documents used are from the collections of the ETRC, and that all the pictures are presently stored in our facilities in Lennoxville. Any manipulation, manual or electronic, is strictly forbidden. It is also forbidden to translate or reformat the pictures without written authorization from the ETRC.
