Researchers Seeking Volunteers

A psychosocial study about immigrant cultural identity and intercultural relations

Researchers from Bishop’s Department of Psychology are seeking volunteers (immigrants/refugees belonging to visible and non-visible minority groups, age 18 and over) from the Eastern Townships for a psychosocial study about immigrant cultural identity and intercultural relations. Participants are expected to attend one session lasting approximately 30-45 min. Experience first hand the research process at a small university and earn a chance to win a $50 voucher at your favourite grocery store. For further information, contact Dr. Claude Charpentier at 819‑822‑9600, ext. 2653 or claude.charpentier@ubishops.ca.

The accessibility of health care services in the Eastern Townships

Have you ever left your family doctor’s office or the hospital feeling ignored, misunderstood or unsatisfied? To explore these issues, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) has awarded a grant to a multidisciplinary research team to evaluate the accessibility of health care services in the Eastern Townships. The team is currently looking for Eastern Townships residents, age 18 and over, interested in filling out a short questionnaire and help us look for solutions to improve access to health care services. The questionnaire can be found online at www.ubishops.ca/healthaccess (English) and www.ubishops.ca/accessante (French). To receive a paper version, please contact the research team at 819‑822‑9600, ext. 2248 (English), ext. 2190 (French), or at comaccess@ubishops.ca. We need your help to improve the health care system for all Townshippers!
